But just a couple years ago, we were in your shoes.
We loved the idea of zigzagging the USA and Canada in a cozy, compact little campervan, but we were less than impressed with the schlocky, factory-built campervans on the market.
Honestly, most assembly line campervans are no different than their RV counterparts. Just plain tacky, boring and poorly built!
And have you seen the outrageous prices on those things?… Fuggedaboutit!
We were still bound and determined to get on the road in our own little campervan and we knew we could do way better.
So we quickly realized that designing our own campervan from scratch was our only option to get exactly what we wanted on our budget and designed for the way we like to travel.
Long story short: We bought a “plain jane” cargo van. We got to work designing and planning every little detail from scratch.
And we turned our teeny tiny gravel driveway into a makeshift campervan workshop.
Just 9 short weeks later we had done it. We had created the campervan of our dreams!
And the icing on the cake?
We completed our campervan in less than 70 days for less than half the cost of a boring, factory-built campervan.
